Welcome to DublinDanceTheatre.com.
Dublin Dance Theatre is a fresh new Dance Theatre company based in the capital city of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. It was started in 2008 by a young Irish woman called Rachel Devlyn upon her return from five years full time training in Ireland and the U.K.
Dublin Dance Theatre aims to captivate the audiences imagination by telling stories through movement, dance, physical theatre, song, music, text, costume and make up. This means that we are always seeking highly trained performers with well developed means of communication through their bodies, voices and imagination. Performers that are " Free" and "Open" like children are always a joy to work with. We are here to have serious fun and to communicate our message/story to our audience.
So far DDT has performed at The Irish Youth Dance Festival, Mamuska, Mullingar Arts Centre, Temple Bar Square, The Backloft Studio, Sligo/North West Pride Festival, the ALAF Festival and in the streets of Temple Bar. The company is currently working on a site specific project called Guerrilla Dance Dublin which involves Dance and Film in bizarre locations and a new street show called "Banana" for the Dublin Fringe Festival 2009. |
